Word has it that Jamie Bamber will soon be back to the land of opportunity. He has been made an offer he cannot refuse by his earlier boss from Battlestar Galactica.

This well turned out, ravishingly handsome actor had returned to London on completing the BSG series to don a new lead role in Law & Order: UK. He now plans to be back in the US of A to do the lead in 17th Precinct, Ron Moore’s NBC pilot.

As the name suggests, it’s a police series but has been given a sci-fi spin. The series is based on a fictional town where magic and supernatural elements weave in and out of science. Inspired, no doubt by the success of Harry Potter.

Bamber will play Caolan, a dedicated crime detective with a nose for gathering evidence. The cast also features Stockard Channing teaming up with him.
