Season 1
The cost of Battlestar Galactica is giving the producer second thoughts of expanding the project despite the good number of viewers. British Sky Broadcasting, finally sponsored the 1st season budget with a return of having one of the early airing rights. The 1st of the thirteen an hour episodes had attracted lots of good rating. It was shown in Sci-Fi Channel last Feb.10, 2004. The producers were Ronald D. Moore and David Eick, who had hired the original cast back in 2003. In Ireland and United Kingdom, they showed several series by October 18, 2004. It was very successful as many viewers had been creating hype to look forward to its next series.

It started showing in the United States last January 14, 2005 and later on in Canada by January 15. The 1st episode is one of the shows who got the highest rating. It got an almost 3.1 million audience. The next episodes were successful and won the Hugo Award for Best Dramatic Presentation, and also got the Peabody Award as a whole show.
Battlestar Galactica can be easily viewed without cost from a Sci Fi website. Moore wanted to reach the “Internet Generation” by posting lots of commentaries via pod-cast, known as the official Sci-Fi web.
Moore concentrated on BSG, and left as a producer on HBO’s Carnivale.
